Scrubbers GC Fines Page

Scrubbers Fines Page

Now we all know we are here for the fun and banter and even to play a little golf sometimes however with the fun there are always little penalties that sneek up on you.

Therefore below is the list of fines that were agreed for the 2023 season and onwards:

(These are the formally agreed ones however if something happens on the day and a call is made lookout!)

- $1 fine for players not getting their drive past the red tee and $2 fine for not getting past the white tee.
- $1 fine for players who hit up on the group in front (the group in front must be further than 200 metres before hitting up).
- $1 fine for players submitting an incorrect or very messy scorecard. I will leave this to the handicapper to determine.
- $1 fine for arriving late prior to the nominated tee off time (all players must be ready to tee off at least 10 minutes prior to tee off).
- $1 fine for not wearing the proper scrubber shirt to a scrubbers away game.
- $1 fine for each player in each group that results in slow play. Slow play would constitute getting more than 1 hole behind the group in front by the end of the round.
- $1 fine for not correctly placing or forgetting to place the novelty flag(s).
- $1 fine for incorrectly completing information on a novelty flag (wrong estimation of metres for long drive will not constitute incorrect information).
- $1 fine for incorrectly playing another players ball.
- $1 fine for picking up another players ball in error.
- $1 fine if you win the NP for a hole and you got a par or worse and someone else on that hole got a birdie.
- $1 fine for placing a novelty flag directly in line of the pin.
- $1 fine for wearing your hat when we are formally inside the club house (this does not include the indoor verandah area at Hillview).
- $1 fine for creating a situation which may put a fellow Scrubber in a position which may cause them to be fined. An example of this is where a Scrubber calls another Scrubber on their mobile which then causes them to answer their mobile while playing.
- $1 fine for answering your mobile phone while playing. If the mobile rings but is not answered, then it is not a fine. Allowances will be made if the phone call is answered due to an emergency situation.
- $1 fine for club, ball, golf bag, golf buggy or player abuse for each occurrence.
- $1 fine for a player who is not on the first tee when the first group are about to tee off (refer arriving late above).
- $1 fine for falsely accusing a Scrubber that they should be fined but the fine event is not a true fine event.
- $1 fine for all players where a player has marked their name on a long drive hole and the long drive is 180 metres or less and no other player has beaten that long drive. The player that marked the long drive of 180 metres or less is excluded from a fine.
- $1 fine where a player has marked their name on a nearest to the pin hole but has not recorded a birdie or better on that hole and another player or players scored a birdie or better on that same hole.

There are now 20 finable events which will commence as of Saturday the 8th of December 2024. These 20 finable events will be continuously looked at and revised during the year and will also apply on double or triple fine days. The Treasurer will be responsible for announcing whether a double or triple fine day will apply to a game prior to commencement of play each week.

All Scrubbers should study and make themselves aware of the above 20 finable events and to note that anything outside of these 20 events is not finable.

The final decision as to whether a finable event is to be imposed will rest with the Treasurer.

Of course if you feel the need to fine yourself on the day feel free to do so as all club members benefit from the fines pool
